TikToker who insulted the president sentenced to 4 years

A man from the Kitab district of the Kashkadarya region was sentenced to 4 years in prison for insulting the president on TikTok.
According to the court, in February 2023, while in Almaty, Kazakhstan, he went live on the TikTok page under the name "Sherkhan" and used offensive words against the head of state. The video was widely distributed on social networks and caused a sharp public outcry.
After that, he visited Turkey and Azerbaijan. In April this year, he was detained in Azerbaijan by officers of the State Security Service.
In court, the man pleaded guilty, said that he was drunk at the time, and apologized. According to the court decision, he was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 4 years in prison.
