A three-month-old baby has taken part in the EU climate ministers' meeting in Luxembourg for the first time.
Swedish climate minister Romina Purmokhtari brought her three-month-old son Adam to the meeting, saying she wanted to show that parental leave does not mean having to choose between work and family.
According to the Council of the European Union, this is the first time in the institution's history that a baby has attended a ministerial meeting. In Sweden, parents can take a total of 16 months of paid parental leave. Purmokhtari, 30, was the youngest minister in Swedish history when she was appointed in 2022. She recently returned from parental leave.
