Those entering military service will undergo drug testing.
Citizens in Uzbekistan enlisting for conscript or contract military service undergo medical screening to determine whether they have used narcotic substances.
The screening is conducted in two stages: first, a urine sample is tested using a rapid test. If the result is positive, a urine or blood sample undergoes further laboratory analysis.
Citizens who test positive or refuse to provide a biological sample do not proceed to the military-medical examination.
The new procedure was state-registered by the Ministry of Justice on September 14. Confidentiality regarding the screening data and results is ensured.
