Thick smoke has enveloped India's most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. Tourists complain that the mausoleum is not visible at all.

The district covered the entire city of Agra. Currently, the air quality index is recorded at 171, which is considered moderately polluted. But especially for Agra, this indicator is very high. The smog in the air was caused by the burning of more than 20 million tonnes of dry rice stalks after the rice harvest in northern India, despite an official ban.

The districts are concentrated in New Delhi, which is located in a low-lying region. In many areas of the capital, the air quality index exceeded 468 points, the norm was from 0 to 50.

The local authorities have decided to close all schools in the Indian capital until November 10. However, 10th and 12th grade students will continue their studies - exams await them.
