There are currently about 26 enterprises in various industries with the participation of German capital operating on the territory of Turkmenistan. In total, Ashgabat and Berlin implemented 196 projects in the oil and gas and textile industries, food industry, medicine, agriculture, and transport and communications sectors worth $1.6 billion, the Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
In total, for the period from 1995-2023, trade turnover between the states amounted to $6.7 billion. Recently, there has been an intensification of economic relations: over the eight months of this year, the volume of export-import transactions increased by 63% compared to the same period last year and amounted to about $210 million .
A special place in economic relations between the countries is occupied by Turkmenistan’s import of high-quality agricultural machinery from the German manufacturer CLAAS. Thus, since 2007, Ashgabat has purchased equipment from the company for 430 million euros, having signed 14 contracts. About 240 private agricultural producers in the country purchased new equipment worth 38 million euros, concluding approximately 400 agreements.
In total, CLAAS supplied more than 5 thousand units of equipment and spare parts to Turkmenistan for a total amount of 468 million euros.
