The series, which began shooting in 2022 under the leadership of director Zhora Krizhovnik, was presented in 2023 and took first place in the list of "Best Russian TV Series" of 2023 on the "Kinopoisk" website.

"A guy's word. About 1,200 candidates participated in the casting of the "Blood on Asphalt" series, and Ivan Yankovsky, Ruzil Minekayev, Leon Kemstach, Yelizaveta Bazikina, Anna Peresild and Anastasia Krasovskaya were selected for the main roles.

Journalist and critic Yuri Saprykin noted that the series was the first film in the history of Russian cinema to become so popular without being shown on television or widely released.
