The USA, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan will deepen cooperation in the fields of security, economy and energy. This was stated in a statement published on the White House website on Thursday, September 21.
According to the document, the leaders of the USA and Central Asian countries agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of security, economy and energy at the C5+1 summit within the framework of the United Nations General Assembly.
"We reaffirm our commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of security as an important foundation for solving common regional security problems and supporting the sovereignty and independence of Central Asian countries," the White House said in a statement.
The United States plans to increase financial assistance to strengthen security in Central Asian countries, as well as to start a dialogue to help five countries in the region extract minerals and strengthen energy security.
Biden also intends to continue cooperation between the United States and Central Asia on border security, the fight against terrorism and law enforcement activities.
For information, the C5+1 summit is a platform for joint actions between the United States and five Central Asian countries to solve common problems.
