US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Independence Day on behalf of official Washington. The text of the congratulation was published on the official website of the State Department on August 31.
"On behalf of the government of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on September 1 - Independence Day," the text reads.
According to Anthony Blinken, for 32 years, the cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan was built on the basis of a common commitment to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Uzbekistan.
"Today, we celebrate the work being done in the important directions of strengthening this strategic partnership, including ensuring regional security, expanding economic ties, strengthening ties between peoples, and striving to protect human rights.
Uzbekistan has been at the center of Central Asia's development, and we highly value its commitment to regional peace, prosperity and security. I send my best wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on this important day," the congratulation reads.
The Secretary of State expressed his desire to further develop the strategic partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan, to find solutions to issues of interest to both sides, and to strengthen strong friendship and trust between the countries.
