John Kirby, representative of the US National Security Council, called North Korea's supply of weapons to Russia "alarming".
As evidence, the White House has released a photo of a shipment of munitions said to be in North Korea. The shells were loaded onto a ship sailing under the Russian flag, and then delivered to a warehouse on the southwestern border of the country. According to US data, the DPRK sent more than 1,000 containers loaded with military ammunition from September 7 to October 1.
"We condemn the DPRK for supplying Russia with military equipment that is used to attack Ukrainian cities, kill civilians, and perpetuate an illegal war," said Kirby.
The analysis project Beyond Parallel previously wrote about the sharp increase in the volume of cargo transportation between Russia and the DPRK. The analysis of satellite images also proves this. For example, 73 freight cars were registered at the Tumangan railway station on the border of the DPRK with Russia.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited Russia for almost a week in mid-September. During the trip, he met with Putin, got acquainted with advanced Russian aviation technology.
