The United States has stopped issuing visas to 75 countries, including Uzbekistan

The US administration will stop processing applications for immigrant visas (work and residence) from citizens of 75 countries starting January 21. Uzbekistan is also on the list. This was reported by Reuters.

The U.S. State Department said applicants from these countries were assessed as having a high risk of becoming a financial burden on the United States. The decision was made as part of a review of immigration policy and tighter screening procedures.

This restriction does not apply to visitor (tourist) visas, and it will not affect those planning to travel to the U.S. for the 2026 World Cup or the 2028 Olympic Games.

List of countries whose citizens’ immigrant visas have been suspended by the U.S.:
