On June 19, the US military conducted a special operation in Syria and killed the high-ranking official and commander of ISIS, Osama Jamal Muhammad Ibrahim al-Janabi. No civilians were injured in the attack. US officials announced that the special operation was carried out in response to a terrorist attack by the ISIS group on the base of the Syrian government troops last week. 16 Syrian soldiers and 1 officer were killed in that terrorist attack.
