The underground stations of the Tashkent metro were named

By the decision of the government, the underground stations of the Tashkent metro were named.

According to the decision signed on August 9, a total of 19 stations of the underground metro ring road of the Tashkent metro were named.

To stops 1-14 of the "Dostlik - Koylyk" line:

1st stop — Technopark;
2nd station — Yashnabad;
3rd station — Tuzel;
4th station — Diamond;
5th station — Rohat;
6th station — Yangiabad;
7th station — Koylyk;
8th station — Matonat;
Station 9 — Qiyat;
Station 10 — Tolariq;
11th station — Khanabad;
Station 12 — Builders;
13th station — Turon;
Station 14 — Kipchak;
To stations 1-5 of the "Almazor-Sergeli" route of the "Chilonzor" road:

Station 15 — Choshtepa;
Station 16 — Change;
17th station — Sergeli;
18th station — Yangyihayat;
19th station — Chinor.
Rustam Polatov, an employee of the Tashkent Metro, said that the numbering of new metro lines in September 2021 is temporary, terminologists will study the history and past of the place where the stations are built and choose the name accordingly.

In April 2023, a public discussion was held on how to name 19 stations of the Tashkent underground metro "Dostlik-Koylyk" and "Almazor-Sergeli". A special web page of the capital city administration was launched to collect and vote public opinion.

Working group of famous scientists, historians, philologists, toponymists and other specialists-experts, as well as media representatives, bloggers under the Ministry of Transport of Tashkent city administration based on the requirements of the law "On Names of Geographical Objects" and established toponyms writing in the state language according to the rules, he announced that he had chosen the most suitable name for each station from the proposals received.
