The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, said that burning the Koran is an abominable act, and such events cause differences between countries. "TASS" agency reports about this.
"Deliberate provocations, such as the abhorrent burning of the Koran, are designed to create division between countries and societies," said Volker Turk.
FYI, there were several incidents of Koran burning in Sweden and Denmark this summer. In particular, in Sweden, Iraqi immigrants Salvan Momika and Salvan Najem burned the holy book near the parliament building. In Denmark, Rasmus Paludan, a politician and the founder of the right-wing Stram Kurs (Hard Course) party, burned the Koran more than once.
These actions angered Muslims all over the world and caused attacks on Swedish diplomatic missions in several countries of the Middle East.
