The UN has appointed a coordinator for Uzbekistan

The role of Austrian international diplomat Sabine Mahl replaced Astxana as the new UN Permanent coordinator in Uzbekistan.

In recent times, the UN General Assembly has adopted 9 resolutions developed at the initiative of Uzbekistan, including 3 resolutions in the past period of 2024. The Ministry of foreign affairs of Uzbekistan was told that it is ready to provide all the necessary assistance to the team of the UN mission in Uzbekistan.

Sabine Mahl, an experienced Austrian international diplomat, was appointed in 2022-2023 to replace Astxana in her role as head of the UN mission in Uzbekistan.
