Acromegaly is a hormonal disorder caused by the excessive production of growth hormone from the pituitary gland, usually due to a tumor (adenoma). The disease develops gradually, leading to enlargement of body parts such as the hands, feet, and face, along with changes in facial features. It can also cause headaches, joint pain, and problems with internal organs. If diagnosed in time, it can be treated with surgery, medication, or radiation therapy.
