The State Duma urged to establish criminal liability for Russophobia

Russia is looking for ways to influence unfriendly foreign politicians who systematically incite national hatred

Irina Yarovaya, Vice Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, proposed officially recognizing Russophobia as a misanthropic ideology and criminalizing its manifestation.

She made such a statement during the XI St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

According to her, this will make it possible to influence unfriendly foreign politicians who "today, either being led or sitting in official offices and betraying the sovereign interests of their citizens and their countries, have embarked on a race of Russophobia."

Earlier, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said that the United States deliberately condones the spread of Nazism and Russophobia in the world.

"The US government has distorted the root cause of the conflict and, through enormous media power, aroused a sense of contempt for Russia. I really think that the US government itself is to blame for creating this conflict," he said.
