On November 8-9, the sixteenth summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will be held in Tashkent under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Heads of state and government of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey are expected to participate in the event.
In accordance with the agenda, issues of further expansion of trade-economic, investment, transport-communication and humanitarian cooperation and improvement of the activities of this multilateral structure will be considered within the framework of the OIC.
As part of the summit program, the leader of Uzbekistan will hold a number of bilateral meetings.
It should be noted that the Economic Cooperation Organization was founded in 1985, its permanent secretariat is located in Tehran.
The Republic of Uzbekistan has been a member of the OIC since 1992.
