Moscow has consistently advocated an early and final settlement of the border dispute between the two neighboring states.

Russia notes positive dynamics in the disputed situation around the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

This was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin at the III Central Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

According to him, Moscow is consistently in favor of an early and final settlement of the border dispute between Dushanbe and Bishkek.

The diplomat also stressed that Russia and the CSTO are "non-alternative security guarantors" of the entire Central Asian region.

And the key elements of stability are the Russian military bases stationed in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Galuzin also stressed that close cooperation with the countries of the region continues on countering the drug and terrorist threat emanating from the territory of Afghanistan.

Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan agreed on joint water use

"For the Central Asian countries, this is especially valuable against the backdrop of the tendencies of religious radicalism that are manifesting in the region," the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation noted.

Recall that negotiations on the delimitation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz border have been going on for more than a year. By this time, the length of the disputed section between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan is about 980 km.
