The right to strike is legalized in Uzbekistan

The Legislative Chamber of the House of Commons debated the Senate's legislative proposal to strengthen citizens ' labor rights on 9 September. For the first time, the project provides for the establishment of the right of employees to strike on a legal basis. The labor code is planned to include the definition of a strike, the procedure for its conduct and guarantees that will be given to employees.

Procedures for postponing, suspending, restoring and ending the strike are also prescribed. The bill aims to bring Uzbekistan's labor legislation in line with the conventions of the International Labor Organization and to ensure the labor rights of citizens in accordance with international standards.
The Assembly adopted a draft resolution on the legislative proposal.
