Today, Friday, the Rafah border crossing will be opened on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of the enclave and the exit of foreign citizens. This is reported by euronews. At the moment, convoys of trucks loaded with humanitarian aid are on one side, and thousands of refugees are waiting on the other for the opening of the Rafah checkpoint on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip. Egyptian state media also said the border would reopen on Friday, but it was unclear under what conditions and for how long it would remain open. Some sources write that only people with dual citizenship can leave Gaza through this border crossing. Earlier, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Joe Biden announced that they had reached an agreement to deliver humanitarian aid to the enclave's residents through Rafah. "Israelis are very seriously concerned about who will be the final recipients of humanitarian aid. They fear that incoming aid will be diverted to Hamas. We are working on an agreement to ensure that any deliveries are properly made," said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller. Euronews reports that the parties have agreed to allow only 20 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, which the WHO complains is not enough for the two million besieged population.
