The privileged circumstances of calculating the term of military service in Uzbekistan have been clarified

President "On amendments and additions to the regulation on the procedure for military service of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the implementation of comprehensive measures aimed at increasing the combat readiness and potential of the Armed Forces" the decision was made.

The document clarifies the privileged circumstances of calculating the term of military service. For military servicemen, one day of the following periods is preferentially considered equal to three days of military service:

the period of participation in hostilities, performing combat tasks, conducting a special anti-terrorist operation or ensuring (maintaining) a state of emergency;
the period of continuous stay in treatment facilities due to injury (injury, injury) and illness as a result of direct participation in the above situations;
those sentenced to unlawful imprisonment and subsequently rehabilitated - the period of detention, pretrial detention or placement in a medical institution.
Also, the procedure for free use of transport by military personnel is being clarified. Military personnel have the right to use the following means of transport through military transport documents:

in air transport:
in "business class" - heads of ministries and their deputies;
in "economy class" - other military personnel;
in railway transport:

in "VIP class" ("luxury") high-speed and fast class trains, "SV" ("luxury") cars of high-speed and passenger trains - heads of ministries and their deputies;
in "business class" of high-speed and express trains, "SV" ("luxury") cars of high-speed and passenger trains - generals and colonels;
in "economy class" of high-speed trains, "business class" of high-speed trains, "compartment" of high-speed and passenger trains - under the contract of "lieutenant-colonel" and lower military rank officers, privates and sergeants those who serve;
in road transport (except for taxis with and without direction) - military personnel of all categories on regular intercity and interregional buses;
in the "economy class" of high-speed and express trains, in general or placard carriages of high-speed and passenger trains - other military personnel.
Conscript military personnel, including private soldiers, as well as contract military personnel, including private soldiers and sergeants, in addition to all types of public transport (directed and non-directed) traveling on urban, suburban and local routes except for taxis) have the right to free use.

The following military titles are awarded to citizens who have a scientific degree (a scientific title) and at least 5 years of scientific and pedagogical work experience for the positions of management, scientific and teaching staff of higher military educational institutions:

for candidates of science, doctors of philosophy (PhD) - "captain";
doctor of science (DSc), candidate of science with the title of associate professor, doctor of philosophy (PhD) - "major";
to doctors of science (DSc) with the scientific title of professor - "lieutenant colonel".
The document was published in the national database of legal documents and entered into force on August 5, 2023.

Before that, it was announced that the agreement on military-technical cooperation between the governments of Uzbekistan and Pakistan was ratified by the law signed by the President. The main goal of the agreement is to further develop cooperation in the military-technical field between the two countries based on the principle of equality and mutual benefit.
