In Uzbekistan, it is expected to allow private collection, preparation, processing and storage of donor blood and its components. The relevant law was approved by the Senate.
At the forty-fifth plenary session of the Senate, the law "On making additions and amendments to certain legal documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of pharmaceutical activity" was discussed.
It is noted that in order to establish the production of drugs from donor blood in the country, to improve the procedure for conducting clinical trials of pharmacological agents and drugs, to cancel some restrictions in the industry, as well as to change the conditions for the registration of drugs and pharmaceutical products the need for revision has arisen.
It is noted that the law "On the donation of blood and its components" is being amended to allow specialized pharmaceutical organizations to collect, prepare, process and store donor blood and its components in a private manner.
"It is extremely important that the law prohibits the private collection, preparation and processing of donor blood and its components, that is, that this field is removed from the state monopoly. However, it should also be said that there must be strict and unchanging special standards for the collection and preparation of blood and its components! This is not a simple task. Especially today, the existence of various blood-borne diseases requires a great responsibility, high qualification and thoroughness in this regard," said the Chairman of the Senate, Tanzila Norboyeva.
The senators said that the law serves to cover the need for blood products at the expense of local production, and to ensure the production of new types of drugs.
The law was approved by senators.
