The price of flour, one of the main food products in the country, has increased by 18% over the past 10 days, experts explained why this is happening
The price of flour in Tajik markets has increased sharply over the past ten days.
Now the price of a bag of first-grade flour costs 330-340 somoni, whereas 10 days ago citizens bought it for 270 somoni.
Experts say that in a week the price of flour increased by 18%, which is an unprecedented figure over the past few years.
By the way, traders say that the reason for the rise in price of flour is not theirs, but the increase in prices for flour in foreign countries that supply it to Tajikistan.
Another reason is unfavorable weather.
The antimonopoly service of Tajikistan says that heavy rains in Kazakhstan, late harvest and losses of wheat led to an increase in prices.

Currently, the price of one ton of imported wheat from Kazakhstan to Tajikistan is estimated at $350. For comparison, four months ago the price was between $240 and $260.
According to official information, over 8 months of this year, 61 companies imported more than 590 thousand tons of wheat to Tajikistan.
