The President said that some officials are undermining the people's trust in the state.
On March 13, Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized shortcomings in working with public appeals at a videoconference meeting dedicated to improving the system for working with public appeals. In particular, the example of the fact that an appeal regarding a broken bridge in Sergeli district was ignored for two months and the problem was resolved only after it was spread on social networks was cited as an example, and it was noted that
superficial responses to appeals undermine people's trust in the state.
The meeting noted that last year, khokims themselves were appointed as heads of Public Reception Offices. As a result, it was noted that in Karakalpakstan, Andijan region, Kashkadarya region, Khorezm region and Syrdarya region, appeals decreased by 25-30 percent, and 60-70 percent of them were resolved positively. However, problems remain in some regions. In particular, more than half of the 170 thousand appeals in Tashkent city and 110 thousand in Tashkent region have not been resolved. An increase in repeated appeals was also noted in Surkhandarya region, Samarkand region, and Tashkent city.
It was reported that the majority of appeals received by public reception centers relate to the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, and the Ministry of Health.
