The President of Turkmenistan met with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda during his visit to Dushanbe on Thursday. The subject of negotiations was the Turkmen-Tajik agreements reached the day before at the highest level in a number of areas, among which transport cooperation was highlighted.
In this context, the head of Turkmenistan noted the demand for the creation of new transport and transit corridors passing through the territories of the two states and connecting vast regions of Central and South Asia, the Near and Middle East.
In the development of the topic, the prospects for the formation of the transport route Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey were considered. They also discussed the possibility of establishing multimodal cargo transportation with China using the port of Turkmenbashi on the Caspian Sea and access to the Persian Gulf.
In addition, the issue of organizing direct and transit air communications between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan was understood.
