South Korean President Yun Sok Yol arrived in Ukraine, according to his press service. The visit had not been announced in advance.

During the trip, the head of South Korea met with President Vladimir Zelensky and planned to place a wreath in memory of those who died in the war.

According to the Yonhap agency, the visit will end the South Korean President's trip to Europe. At first he visited Lithuania, where the NATO summit was held, then headed to Poland.

So far, South Korea has provided only humanitarian and economic assistance to Ukraine. In April, the president of the country, Yun Sok Yol, did not exclude the shipment of ammunition and armored vehicles to Ukraine if the threat to the civilian population in the country was significantly increased. In early May, the president, who was in the United States at the time, said that the option was under consideration when asked about the possibility of supplying weapons to Kiev.

According to the BBC Russian Service, South Korea is the largest ammunition producer. In addition, heavy armored vehicles are produced in the country, K-2 Korean combat tanks are highly appreciated and exported a lot. The BBC also claims that South Korea has a stockpile of Soviet military equipment, including T-80U tanks, which can be issued to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
