The president of Kyrgyzstan reacted to the arrest of his nephew

Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov commented on the arrest of his nephew Ulan Japarov. This was reported to the Kabar news agency.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs had arrested Ulan Japarov on suspicion of involvement in corrupt schemes in customs. He is the son of President cousin Raqimjon Japarov. Ulan Japarov is currently held in custody in an investigative isolator.

Japarov commented that” everyone should be treated as one". He stated that if a person was involved in corruption, he would have to be imprisoned no matter who he was.

“You will be released only after you have paid double damages to the state. If you don't pay, you can't leave. When I don't let him capture the criminal as my brother, the other brothers also intervene. There is a good phrase in Kyrgyz: the punishment of one is a lesson to a thousand. This is my explanation,” said Japarov.

Earlier, the head of the press secretary of the president of Kyrgyzstan said that the president warned that everyone, regardless of acquaintance and kinship, would respond to his actions under the law.
