June 30 - the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a greeting on the occasion of the Youth Day of Uzbekistan (full text below). Dear sons and daughters! First of all, dear ones, I would like to congratulate all the young people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Youth Day, which is widely celebrated in our country, from the bottom of my heart. I sincerely congratulate your parents, teachers and coaches, who are celebrating this holiday together with you, and our multi-ethnic people, and express my highest respect and best wishes to all of you. Of course, in such joyful days, we feel even more deeply how great opportunities our country has in the form of our determined children, who are the future of our country, a symbol of our hope and faith. Today, those who study in schools, colleges, technical institutes and universities, open their own business, engage in entrepreneurship, honorably fulfill their duty as young men in the ranks of our Armed Forces, work in production, construction, science, education, medicine, More than 18 million of our boys and girls who boldly enter the fields of culture, literature and art, sports, modern IT-technologies and live with great dreams are our priceless wealth, our golden reserve. "I will be the creator of the new Uzbekistan!", "I will make a worthy contribution to the creation of the foundations of the Third Renaissance!", and it is worthwhile to be proud of the fact that the lofty goals of our children take a deep place in their hearts and become the content of their lives and activities. Dear young people! Ensuring the rights and interests of our younger generation, creating all the conditions for our sons and daughters to learn, work, and realize their abilities and talents has been the level of state policy in Uzbekistan in recent years. It is well known to you that it has been narrowed and great work is being done in this regard. This is clearly confirmed by the fact that more than 100 laws have been adopted in this direction in the past short period and are being consistently implemented. In particular, the fact that the rights and interests of the young generation are sealed with specific articles in our updated Constitution, without a doubt, makes it possible to further expand the legal base in this regard and raise our practical work to a new level. At this point, I would like to gratefully emphasize that our youth showed special activity in the discussion and adoption of the draft Basic Law in the new version through a national referendum. This indicates that our sons and daughters live with a high sense of involvement in the fate and future of our country, and bring a new spirit and meaning to the political and social processes in our country. At the moment, such an active attitude is the result of establishing a constant dialogue with our people as well as our youth, listening to their thoughts and wishes, involving our sons and daughters in the implementation of all our programs and plans, and showing confidence in them. It will be true. In this sense, a completely new vertical management system for working with youth was created in the past period. The position of youth leader was introduced in all neighborhoods of our country, and young men and women with organizational skills and initiative were selected for this task. More than 100 opportunities were created for young people in the neighborhood through this system. The "Youth Register" system was launched, and in the last two years, nearly 1 trillion soums worth of aid was provided to about 798,000 young people. In particular, 53,000 students from needy families were paid contract money for studying. The number of higher education institutions has increased three times to 210, and the coverage level has increased from 9% to 38%, opening up new opportunities for our boys and girls in acquiring modern science and professions. Over 6 trillion soums of preferential loans were allocated to 250,000 young people in the last three years. 210 "Youth industrial and entrepreneurship zones" were established across our country, and 2.5 thousand projects worth 4 trillion soums were implemented. As a result, the number of young entrepreneurs has doubled to over 200,000. From now on, we will consistently continue our good work, which serves to fundamentally change the lives of not only our youth, but also our entire society. In this regard, we will further expand the opportunities and conditions for the comprehensive support of our youth, the development and realization of your potential and talent. Dear sons and daughters! The fact that the young people of our country are making good use of the opportunities created and achieving initial promising results in various fields certainly makes us all happy. Uzbek students won 7 gold, 36 silver and 38 bronze medals at international science Olympiads last year. Our young athletes have successfully participated in international competitions and won 247 gold, 119 silver, 110 bronze medal winners. In the following years, 758 such young people, who have made a worthy contribution to the development of our country, received state awards. Of course, we will continue the work we have started to realize the dreams, advanced ideas and initiatives of our dear children and take them to a new, higher level. I am sure that our young people who are living with love and loyalty to our beloved Motherland, mastering science and professions, and growing up ready for the fierce competition in today's complex times, are capable of reaching any high level. I sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, on today's days of youth, happiness and sophistication, and I wish you all good health, great achievements and good luck. Never forget that victory and happiness are hard-earned! Your success is the success of our nation. Our people believe in you, rely on you, get energy, spirit and inspiration from you. Never get tired of living with great goals! We will definitely build a new Uzbekistan together with you and the youth of our country. Happy holiday to all of you, my dear sons and daughters!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
