The powers of the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan will expand

At the next meeting of the SDP faction “Justice” in the Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Assembly, the draft law on amendments and additions to the constitutional law “on the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan”was considered. This was reported by the press service of the Lower House of Parliament.

It is noted that the Constitution of the new edition establishes new norms regarding the Constitutional Court of Uzbekistan and its powers, necessitating the reform of the activities of the Constitutional Court on the basis of a single approach.

The draft law provides for amendments and additions to the constitutional law”on the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan", which provides for the Constitutional Court to conclude on the constitutionality of the issues being submitted to the referendum of Uzbekistan, as well as the election of judges of the Constitutional Court for a ten-year term without the right to re-election.

” The bill is based on the fact that the Constitution of Uzbekistan has supreme legal power, ensuring the unconditional priority of the Constitution and laws and their uniform validity, " the message said.

Members of the faction supported the party, recognizing that the draft law in question was an important conceptual document, drawing on the goals and ideas in the campaign program, and was of particular importance in ensuring continuity and continuity of legislation in this direction. At the meeting, other issues on the agenda were also considered in detail by the deputies and a corresponding decision was made.

The decree, signed by the president in May, stated that the new revision of the Constitution provides for the training of civil servants of the state and employees of the judicial system.
