The plane carrying Malawi's Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine other people went missing. The presidential office said in a statement that the plane "disappeared from radar" after leaving the capital, Lilongwe, on the morning of June 10. He was due to land at Mzuzu International Airport after 10am local time. Dispatchers cannot contact the plane. A search and rescue operation is currently underway. Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera canceled his flight to the Bahamas after learning of the incident.
