The oldest resident of the city of Arkadag is 89-year-old Shamurat Nazarov. The oldest man in the country's first smart city was born here on August 22, 1934. Now he is the father of four sons, six daughters, grandfather of 43 grandchildren and 74 great-grandchildren, the Arkadag newspaper reports.
According to the elder, the nature of the Babarap and Gorjav areas is healing. He became convinced of this in his youth, when he fell ill during his military service. It was the air of his native village that was able to put Nazarov on his feet.
In an interview with a regional newspaper, he spoke about life in the new city, highly praising the quality of services provided, including transport and residential infrastructure. The Nazarovs Jr., the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the 89-year-old elder, also live here.
The city of Arkadag has been awarded many certificates from international organizations as one of the most environmentally friendly cities on the planet. This can be explained, firstly, by its location in a picturesque area in the foothills of the Kopetdag, and secondly, by the environmental safety measures taken in the city, including the use of sustainable transport.
