The Committee for Emergency Situations of Tajikistan presented new data on the number of deaths as a result of rampant natural disasters

In Tajikistan, the number of deaths as a result of a natural disaster has increased.

The Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic reported 21 victims of the emergency, which occurred in a number of regions and cities of the country.

So, 17 people died in the city of Vahdat, two - in the Rudaki region, two more were found in the Varzob region.

It is clarified that most likely these statistics are inconclusive.

Local media report cases of death due to natural disasters in other regions of the country, but these reports have not yet been officially confirmed.

The CoES of the republic noted that work to eliminate the consequences of a natural disaster in Tajikistan continues.

Recall that heavy rains on August 27 and 28 caused great damage in the cities of Vahdat, Gissar, Dushanbe, as well as the districts of Rudaki, Varzob and Rasht.

To assess the damage and eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster, a special commission has been formed with the participation of high-ranking officials of the government of Tajikistan, which will visit the affected areas.

As a result of the floods, residential buildings, roads and structures were damaged, as well as interruptions in the electricity and water supply to Dushanbe.
