The number of students in Turkmenistan has quadrupled over 15 years

The number of students in higher education institutions in Turkmenistan has more than quadrupled over the past 15 years. Almost 70,000 people were trained in the country last year, while in 2007 the number of students reached 17,000.
Such data are provided by the Vice-Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Turkmenistan Kakageldy Hyummyaev in his article for the newspaper "Turkmenistan".
Currently, there are about 25 higher schools in the country, 11 of which are members of the International Association of Universities, which train specialists in various areas of training. Last year, domestic universities graduated about 9.2 thousand students, which is almost 3 times more than in 2007.
A noticeable growth trend in student youth has been observed over the past three years: in 2019-2022, the number of students increased by more than 20 thousand.
