The number of states that have banned”Barbie " is growing

Kuwait announced that” Barbie “was banned in order to protect” public morals and social traditions". In Lebanon, however, there is a struggle to curb his protests. This was reported by Aljazeera. 

 ” This film promotes ideas and beliefs alien to Kuwaiti society and the public order, " said a spokesman for the Kuwaiti Ministry of information.

In Lebanon, however, Culture Minister Mohammed Mortada asked the Lebanese Interior Ministry on 9 August to take all necessary measures to ban “Barbie”in the country.

"The Film promotes the marriage of people of the same sex, supports the renunciation of the guardianship of the father, reduces and ridicules the role of the mother. She questions the need to get married and have a family,” she said.

Following Mortada's request, Home Secretary Bassam Mawlawi asked the country's censorship committee to review the film and make his own recommendation.

Recall that the film was already banned in Vietnam earlier because of the fact that on the scene of the imaginary world map, China showed its claims in the disputed South China Sea.
