The number of rare diseases treated free of charge in Uzbekistan has increased

According to the presidential decree for 2026–2030, medical and social assistance to children suffering from rare (orphan) and hereditary-genetic diseases has been expanded. The number of diseases that can be treated free of charge at the expense of the state budget has been increased from 5 to 10, and patients will be provided with medicines, special food and medical equipment at a rate of 99%. From January 1, 2026, patients aged 18–21 suffering from such diseases will also have the opportunity to receive free medical observation and treatment.
