A decrease in the number of elderly people is observed in the cities of Kanibadam, Isfara and Khujand, the authorities of the Sughd region emphasized
Despite the increase in population, the number of pensioners in the north of Tajikistan has decreased.
This was announced by the head of the Agency for Social Insurance and Pension Provision of the Sughd region Kasymzoda Sulaimon.
"For 6 months of 2023, pensioners amounted to 233 thousand people, which is 4.6 thousand less compared to the same period in 2022," he stated.
According to the information provided, a decrease in the number of older people is observed in the cities of Kanibadam, Isfara and Khujand.
The local authorities singled out migration as the main reason.
It is noted that pensioners of Sogd prefer moving to Russia.
According to the source, more than 100 thousand people will receive labor pensions, 12.6 thousand - social pensions, 120.7 thousand - insurance and state pensions, and the average size of pension payments in the region is 303 somoni.
