The National Bank of Tajikistan published statistics for six months of 2023 on the method of payment by the population for goods and services in the republic
The number of non-cash payments is growing in Tajikistan.
This was stated during a press conference by representatives of the National Bank of the Republic.
It is noted that 17% of all payments for the six months of 2023 were made in electronic form.
This figure is 6% higher than for the same period in 2022, the source emphasized.
"The amount of 5.5 billion somoni was paid by bank transfer during this period, which is 2.5 billion more than in 2022," the National Bank stated.
However, cash payments were made for 27.5 billion somoni, which also exceeds the figure for January-July 2022 by 3 billion somoni.
Earlier, the head of "Amonatbank" Sirojiddin Ikromi denied accusations of monopolization. He noted that all banking structures have equal rights in the market. According to him, "Amonatbank" does not assign all possible income from the transition to non-cash payment.
Sirojiddin Ikromi added that this system of non-cash payments, on the contrary, increased the expenses of Amonatbank.

Recall, on June 22, the head of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, signed a document on the transition of the state to non-cash payment of payments sent to the budget.
The decree also notes that the payment of bills in cash will be prohibited.
So, for the implementation of non-cash payment, a single portal for payment for public services will begin to function.
