The number of complaints in the construction sector in Uzbekistan has increased sharply

The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights reported that in the first three months of 2026, about a thousand appeals were received in the construction sector. For comparison, a total of 1,706 complaints were registered throughout 2025.

It was noted that citizens mainly expressed dissatisfaction with the delay in construction deadlines, poor-quality work, failure to fulfill promised conditions, and charging for services that were not actually provided. It was also revealed that in some cases, funds were being collected from residents without the necessary permits.

The Committee recommended that citizens purchasing housing carefully study contracts, especially pay special attention to the terms of handover of the facility and the responsibilities of the parties.
