The New York Times: “Breaking Bad” Named the Best TV Series of the 21st Century

A ranking of the best TV series of the 21st century was compiled with the participation of professionals from the television industry. More than 500 people, including actors, screenwriters, directors and showrunners, took part in the selection.

The ranking includes series that premiered after January 1, 2000. “Breaking Bad”, which aired from 2008 to 2013, took first place. “The Wire”, which ran from 2002 to 2008, came in second, while “Mad Men”, which aired from 2007 to 2015, ranked third.

The top five also included “Succession”, which aired from 2018 to 2023, and “Fleabag”, which ran from 2016 to 2019.

The top 10 also featured “Game of Thrones,” “Veep,” “30 Rock,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Atlanta.”
