On August 29, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyar Saidov received the newly appointed ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan, Muhammad Monirul Islam. The minister wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"We are pleased to receive copies of credentials from Mr. Mohammad Monirul Islam, who was appointed as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bangladesh to Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan and Bangladesh are showing consistent economic growth, we have common goals, and there are ample opportunities for further development of cooperation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan is ready to accelerate mutual relations in all areas," the head of the MFA wrote.

Muhammad Monirul Islam took the place of Muhammad Jahangir Alam, who headed the embassy of Bangladesh in Tashkent in 2020-2023.

The new ambassador is 48 years old. Bangladesh has been working in the MFA system since 2001. Before he was appointed to Tashkent, he worked in the consulates of his country in Istanbul and New York.

Earlier, it was reported that Furqat Siddiqov was appointed as the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Brazil on a deputation basis, the new ambassador of Turkmenistan started working in Uzbekistan, and the new ambassador of Malaysia was appointed to Uzbekistan.
