The "National Reading Movement" program has been launched in Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has launched the “National Reading Movement” program based on the experience of the UAE. The winning participant will receive a prize of $50,000.

The program was launched at the International Congress Center with the participation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It emphasized the importance of developing reading and expanding the culture of reading among young people.

The President said that in the era of developing digital technologies, independent thinking is one of the most important advantages. Reading books develops a person’s thinking and serves the development of society. It was also noted that the “Young Reader” competition, which has been held since 2017, has brought millions of young people closer to books.

According to information, the new program will cover all regions and will involve students in grades 1-11. The total prize fund is $240,000.
