According to the official data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, an increase in crime has been registered in the country, the detection of crimes has also exceeded the figure for 2022.
Law enforcement agencies of Tajikistan have detained more than 1.5 thousand criminals.
Such figures were announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Ramazon Rakhimzoda during a press conference following the results of the first half of 2023.
"195 members of terrorist and extremist organizations have also been arrested," the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic stressed.
According to official figures, 1,447 lawbreakers were caught in 2022, while the number of terrorists imprisoned was 261.
Also, according to the minister, 273 firearms were seized in the country.
Rakhimzoda also mentioned drug trafficking.
So, for 6 months of this year, 1.3 tons of narcotic drugs were seized in the country, including:
heroin - 4.6 kg,
opium - 122.6 kg,
hashish - 1.1 tons,
hemp - 17.3 kg.
Increase in crime recorded in Tajikistan
It should be noted that 11.6 thousand crimes were registered in 6 months, which is 870 more than in the same period last year.
