Actions with the desecration of the Koran, which took place in Sweden and Denmark, are offensive to the Muslims of the world and provoke an inter-religious conflict, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan is convinced.

"The desecration of the Holy Quran is an insult to the feelings of all Muslims in the world and sows discord in society, provoking an inter-religious conflict," the department told TASS.

The Foreign Ministry noted that they condemn "any manifestation of intolerance, extremism and terrorism, hostility, war and conflicts."

"We always stand for a constructive dialogue of civilizations," the Foreign Ministry said.

On June 28, with the permission of the police on the square in the center of Stockholm, 37-year-old Iraqi immigrant Salvan Momika tore out pages from the Koran and set it on fire. This happened on the day when Muslims around the world celebrated one of the main religious holidays, Eid al-Adha (in Tajikistan, it is called Idi Kurbon).

At a similar rally outside the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm on July 20, Momika kicked a sacred book but did not burn it. Then the "Danish Patriots" burned the Koran in Copenhagen after similar acts in Stockholm.

Here we reported how the Muslim world reacted to this.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, called the acts of burning the Koran in a number of Northern European states unacceptable provocations aimed at escalating tension in the modern world, undermining trust between peoples and states, kazlenta.kz reports.

According to the Kazakh leader, the increasing cases of religious vandalism and irresponsible behavior of citizens of the respective countries should be unanimously condemned as actions that run counter to the generally recognized norms of civilized coexistence of states and religions.

“The UN General Assembly should also say its weighty word on this matter,” he believes.
