ASTANA, August 22 - Sputnik. The head of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, Yerulan Zhamaubayev, commented on the information about the possible sale of the assets of ArcelorMittal Temirtau to the ownership of the Russian company Severstal.

"The statement was made. Sklyar (Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar - Sputnik) is directly involved in this issue. You see, this kind of enterprise, a certain circle of people should be involved in it. This should be a serious negotiation process. Therefore, if everyone comments at their own level, this will be wrong," Zhamaubaev said on the sidelines of the government.

According to him, premature comments may affect the negotiation process.

"Therefore, the statement has already been made. I think there is a political decision. Therefore, we will work," the minister added.

In conclusion, he noted that it is important for Kazakhstan that the investor be solvent, invest certain resources in increasing wages and modernizing production.

Recall, on August 17, a fire broke out in the Kazakhstanskaya mine of the ArcelorMittal Temirtau company. At the time of the emergency, 227 people were underground, 222 miners were brought to the surface.

A criminal case was registered on the fact of the fire under part 3 of article 277 of the Criminal Code "Violation of safety rules during mining or construction work."

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, after the tragedy, said that the issue with the owner would be resolved.

After this tragedy, the deputies declared that "it's time to say goodbye to Mr. Mittal."
