The information disseminated on social networks about the conclusion of an agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Turkish company Otokar for the purchase of armored vehicles in the amount of about 2 trillion tenge is not true. This was stated in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. To date, there are no agreements on the supply of armored vehicles by the Turkish side. Otokar is just one of the manufacturers of armored vehicles, samples of which are considered on a general basis in accordance with the procedure established by the rules of adoption. The Ministry of Defense informed about this earlier. At the same time, other foreign samples of equipment are also being considered," the report says. As specified in the department, at present, a sample of 8x8 armored vehicles of this company, along with a sample of domestic armored vehicles, is undergoing pilot tests, according to the results of which a sample of equipment suitable for technical requirements will be determined. We remind you that the Ministry of Defense, within its competence, is responsible for the country's defense capability, has needs for various types of weapons and military equipment, while the quality of products recognized by both domestic and international experts is a priority for the defense department when choosing samples. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to believe the various outbursts of fake information on the social network and to trust only verified, official sources of information," the Defense Ministry concluded.
