The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan held exercises to respond to emergencies

The Main Directorate of Civil Defense and Rescue Works of the Ministry of Defense, together with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, organized simulation exercises to provide pre-medical and other types of assistance. The events, which took place from May to July, involved students, teachers and school administrations.
The main goal of the exercise, supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan, was to develop scenarios for various emergency situations, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.
These actions were carried out as a result of an agreement of understanding on cooperation in emergency situations and an action program between the NRCST and UNICEF, as well as the accession of Turkmenistan to the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction for 2015-2030.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan annually holds such events at the local level - for individual enterprises and factories - and at the large-scale level - at the level of regions and the country. They are also joined by volunteers from the NRCST.
