The minimum consumption expenditure in Uzbekistan was 568,000 soums per person per month

The poverty line is determined by this value. According to the Statistics Agency, the value of minimum consumption expenses was calculated in the period specified in the "Statistical Program for 2023".
According to him, based on the 2022 (annual) inflation rate, the value of the minimum consumption expenses calculated for 2023 was 568 thousand soums per person per month.
It should be noted that in 2022, the minimum consumption expenditure increased by 13.2%, and this indicator was 498 thousand soums.
In world experience, it is common to use the minimum consumption expenditure indicator as a poverty line, and from this indicator:
— to determine the target group of the population in need of material and other social assistance from the state;
— use in determining the country's poverty line and taking into account the real consumption characteristics and requirements of the population in the target group;
— increasing the effectiveness and targeting of the tasks and measures set in the strategies and programs to combat poverty, as well as their continuous monitoring;
— used as a criterion for determining the minimum amount of pensions and allowances, as well as providing other types of financial assistance to poor families.
