The list of land areas to be included in the new city of Tashkent has been determined

The list of land areas on which the new city of Tashkent will be built was determined by the presidential decision.

According to it, the new city of Tashkent will be built on 19,720.9 hectares of land in the Upper Chirchik and Orta Chirchik districts of the Tashkent region:

Uzbekistan, Dostlik, Surankent, Turkistan, Gulistan, Iyk ota, (Qibray) Nurmuhammedov districts from Upper Chirchik district;
From the Middle Chirchik district, specialized agricultural lands in the Dostlik, Okhunbobyev, Kim Peng Hwa regions and the territory of the Rice Cultivation Institute will be allocated. About 13,000 hectares of it are agricultural lands (more than 11,000 hectares are irrigated). These plots of land will be transferred to the category of land of settlements. The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan and regional governments shall ensure that new lands equal to the area of irrigated land plots, whose category is being changed by this decision, are acquired and transferred to the category of irrigated lands by the end of January 1, 2028, in equal shares. Due to the change of the category of agricultural lands in accordance with this decision, compensation payments for compensation for the loss of agricultural and forestry production will not be collected. The plots of land intended for the establishment of the new city of Tashkent will be used for other purposes after they are registered as state property in the prescribed manner and after the damages caused to individuals and legal entities are fully compensated.
