The Legislative Chamber and the Senate are empowered to dissolve themselves

At the next meeting of the UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the deputies considered in the first reading the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Documents of the Republic of Uzbekistan" as the first item on the agenda. came out

A number of changes and additions are made to this document. In particular, the powers of the Senate are being harmonized with the new Constitution. According to him,

assistance to the representative bodies of local state power in the implementation of their activities;
To fulfill the powers of the Oliy Majlis to adopt laws during the dissolution of the Legislative Chamber;
review of the law within 60 days from the date of its receipt by the Senate, etc.
4 members of the Senate will be elected from each administrative-territorial unit, 9 members will be appointed by the president (65 members in total). The number of permanent senators remains at 25.

Also, it is proposed to terminate the commission of the Senate that supervises the activities of prosecutor's offices.

The following powers of the Senate are abolished and designated as the absolute powers of the Legislative Chamber:

Control over the implementation of the state budget and review the report of the Chamber of Accounts;
Reviewing and approving the nomination of the prime minister based on the presentation of the president;
To hear the reports of the Prime Minister, members of the government and the annual report of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The number of deputy speakers of the Legislative Chamber is being reduced from 7 to 2. In this:

It is established that the deputy speaker cannot be a member of a faction and suspends membership in a political party during his term of office;
the head of the faction is equal to the deputy speaker according to the conditions of providing material, medical and transport services.
The power of self-dissolution of the Legislature and the Senate is introduced. In this case, a new election to the Legislative Chamber will be held within 2 months, and a new composition of the Senate will be formed within 1 month.
