The legal status of the Presidential Administration has been established by law

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Constitutional Law «On the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan».

The new law clearly defines the legal status, functions and powers of the Presidential Administration. Previously, there had been a legal gap in regulating certain aspects of the Administration’s relations with state bodies.

The law consists of 4 chapters and 34 articles. Under the law, the Presidential Administration is defined as a state body that provides organizational, legal and analytical support for the constitutional powers of the President. The Administration is formed by the President and is subordinate and accountable to him.

Its main functions include preparing draft presidential decrees, resolutions and orders, organizing and monitoring their implementation, developing new initiatives related to national development, and organizing direct dialogue with citizens and entrepreneurs.

The Administration will also prepare laws for the President to sign or return, organize the President’s address to the Oliy Majlis, and coordinate the activities of state bodies directly subordinate to the President.

The law also establishes the legal status and responsibilities of the Head of the Presidential Administration, as well as procedures for appointing and dismissing officials. In addition, it creates a legal framework for organizing the activities of the Security Council under the President.

The Administration will cooperate with parliament, the government, ministries and agencies, local authorities, and judicial bodies.

The law aims to place the activities of the Presidential Administration on a clear legal basis and further strengthen the mechanisms for exercising the President’s powers in public administration.
